Obama wins the first Presidential debate

Obama maintains a lead in the recent Gallup Polling, 48% to McCain’s 45% among registered voters. After a week of Congress talking about bailouts the debate went off without a problem, almost. John McCain wanted to delay the debates while at the same time suspending his campaign to solve this economic crisis.

I think McCain has made an error in judgment this week; he canceled his appearance on David Letterman hours before the taping. John McCain called CBS’s David Letterman saying he has to put country first so he could make it because he had to head back to Washington D.C.

During the taping Letterman exposed John McCain as a liar because the Senior Senator didn’t go to Washington he went to do an interview with another CBS host Katie Couric.  The best part of the Letterman show was watching Letterman watch McCain Live because CBS had access to its own behind the screens news coverage. McCain was getting his nose powdered, how embarrassing.

The reason I started off by saying Obama won the debates was because of the way he presented himself. As opposed to John McCain, Barack Obama seemed to understand that the current economic crisis on Wall street and Main Street stem from the abuses of Senator McCain’s Party of the Old Republic War Hawks. Obama presented a clear choice, and defended himself from the McCain smear attacks.

Obama is right that no civilization can sustain economic woes and continue to have an overseas military presents. The cost of the two current wars and the deregulation by the Republican Party has produced a market of low consumer confidence and are directly responsible for the current economic recession.
