Does anbody know how something like the animal above might be attacked. Im really interested in the two degrees. Would be an awesome combination. Would appreciate the help.

Subject?

George - huh? Are you saying that you want both a bus. admin. degree and one in law? RJ Walker in the Courts class would be a good person to ask.

First - I've been asked for legal advice many times, and basically because I was taught language by a grammarian. I am thus attuned to subtleties of language, though I had only one year as a legal secretary. The classic example: three people are named in a will.

1) Property shall be divided between Tom, Dick, and Harry.
(Each one gets 1/3.)

2) Property shall be divided between Tom, Dick and Harry.
(Tom gets 1/2, Dick and Harry split the other 1/2, each
gets 1/4.)

Please note the only difference in the two forms of the will in ONE SINGLE COMMA. And the above is not an exaggeration.

If you are going into law, you must become very aware of detail and establish the habit of examining possible outcomes of any and every decision. Does that fit who you are?

Clearly, from your writing, you are very interested in business, and, I think, development work in developing economies. You would, in any case, want at least one good class in business law, probably more in torts (lawsuits) and tax law, perhaps estate law - but that last is a complicated specialty.

My recommendation - do an informational interview (not job-seeking, but getting information about the career) with at least one attorney working in a specialty related to your interests - and - take a busniess law class while studying business, then move on from there.

Thanks....

I was also looking more for the experience; like somebody who has done it and how they did it regardless of their interests. I want the MBA/JD to still reflect my undergraduate studies in political Science and Economics; with some work experience I should be able to figure out what area of law I would want to study but with the MBA it will be in Finance. I have had exposure to business law, but torts class was more interesting (John Edwards came in and talked about his experience as a Tort lawyer). I think the trouble for me might be the type opf law that i want to study.

I really want to know about the intellectual experience of the combination regardless of the field of study, though im aware that experience might not be similar for people studying different areas but going for the JD/MBA combination.

MBA/JD

Oh, man! I'm envious - the John Edwards talk would've been great. I emailed RJ about your interest - he worked in banking, I think, and I suspect you may share some interests.

LOLOL

The funny thing is that he kept on touching his hair.. after the talk we were cracking up(lolol) -- he has a book about his trials called the Four Trials---Really interesting stuff!!

Thank you very much for the link up.

Edwards' classroom visit

Soooo - the reporters had a reason when they leaked the story about his $400 haircut... He really does have nice hair and really does have a "thing" about it. But I still like him, and I'd hire him, and I like his wife. Bet he was helpful on law questions.
