The ACLU of Illinois is standing up for fairness in the Land of Lincoln
Goals: ILLINOIS FREEDOM AGENDA

* Protect vulnerable persons - including those who are institutionalized in the custody of the State of Illinois - children, the developmentally disabled and mentally ill - who face inhumane, violent or abusive living conditions!

* End racial profiling, biased consent searches, the arbitrary use of drug sniffing dogs and other long-standing discriminatory law enforcement practices!

* Win full marriage equality for gay and lesbian couples in Illinois!

* Ensure that private medical decisions - including decisions about abortion - are made by individuals, not the government!

* Defend freedom of expression and protect all Illinoisans from unlawful surveillance!

My question is does it make sense to have a state where the police can search you for drugs, or where gays and lesbian couples go opressed?

Does it make sense to let those under the watch of the state slip through the cracks?

How does it make you feel to know that children are being abused and at the same time there is something we could easily do about it?

Its time to change the ways of the past and starting fulling the ideal of being your brother's keeper.
