Jess Klein used her 2007 Young People For (YP4) fellowship to launch the 1 in 3 Ask Me campaign to raise awareness of sexual assault and violence against women.
Building on this Blueprint for Social Justice, Jess has used the YP4 internship program to work on her project full-time and take the campaign to other campuses in Michigan.
Steering Committee
Each year, a select number of current Young People For fellows are asked to serve on the Young People For Steering Committee. Fellows are selected for the Steering Committee based on their level of engagement in the program, their leadership potential, and their activities on campus and in their communities.
The Steering Committee structure is designed to ensure that YP4 is accountable to our fellows and that the program remains fellow-driven.
Fellows' deep participation in YP4 significantly strengthens the YP4 network and builds a strong sense of family and connectedness among YP4 staff, our progressive partners and YP4 fellows. Membership on the Steering Committee also helps to prepare fellows for leadership roles in the progressive movement.
