Six Steps to Winning Your Election
Six Steps to Winning Your Election is a public sector course within the Progressive Academy Online. In this course, participants will explore and discuss the following essential components of running for public office and running a successful electoral campaign:
- When and how to launch an effective campaign
- Building volunteer networks
- Developing successful communications strategies
- Raising the necessary funds to finance a campaign
- Ensuring that voters turn out on Election Day and that their votes are counted
The course is designed for people who are interested in grassroots organizing, campaign management, and/or running for office in the future.
The Progressive Movement – Social Sector Issues 101
The progressive movement has long addressed issues that speak to a diverse set of cultural constituencies, interests and socio-economic classes. It has not, however, always been the case that work around specific issues has benefited the broader progressive movement on the whole. This course will address a few of those core cultural and civil rights issues that have put progressive activists at odds with each other at times and close allies at others.
Direct Voter Contact and GOTV (Get Out the Vote)
Join Young People For and the Young Elected Officials for this six-week Public Sector course. Explore the different tools used in voter outreach, base building, voter identification and persuasion and identifying and targeting GOTV audiences. This course is designed for people who are interested in sharpening their skills recruiting and talking to voters to yield the best possible results on Election Day.
